What do I need to do to ensure I am GPS compliant for NYS Medicaid NEMT?

In order to ensure you are GPS compliant your company needs to be operating on API version 5.2. If you have questions or concerns about whether your company is operating on 5.2 please reach out to your county Field Liaison or if you are currently working with a Transportation Provider Intermediary (TPI) it is imperative you reach out to them as soon as possible to facilitate the transition.

What does API stand for?

Application Program Interface -- The way in which two separate systems seamlessly connect via particular codes, definitions, and protocols

What does PPO stand for?

Preferred Provider Opportunity-an agreement that creates a network of participating providers

How do I cancel a trip if enrollee contacts me prior to pick-up?

In this case, wait until the trip times are completed, then attest to it as "cancelled."

Does Transportation Provider need to contact MAS if enrollee calls requesting different pick-up/drop off time?

If it is only the time change, you don't need to contact MAS. If it's an address or date change, the enrollee needs to call MAS to make the change

How is Transportation Provider notified of PPO opportunity?

PPO status changes will be emailed to any Transportation Provider eligible within a geographic area. As we continue to make improvements in 2.0, they will appear on your home screen

How do I manage my capacity for each modality?

Transportation Providers have the ability to manage their own capacity within the Service Profile section of MAS 2.0

How do I find my service codes and rates?

That information is located on your dashboard under Service Profile, in the Services Offered section.

Is your total capacity based off trip legs or round trips?

Capacity is based off trip leg. It is important for Transportation Providers to keep all of their profile information up to date and accurate

Can a Transportation Provider enter a trip for an enrollee?

No, it would be in a violation of NYSDOH policy for a Transportation Provider to enter a trip for an enrollee
